November Google Feature Tests
Youtube video overlay in Search Results
Google is now testing add “video to your search” in YouTube video overlay in the Search Results
I shared a screen recording of this on X Search users can expand the Youtube in the search results and in the overlay UI there’s a search box saying add “video to your search”.
This is somewhat similar to what we have nowadays which allows to do keyword search through the transcript of video. But I think that this new is beyond that and can do more, even though as of now its not working properly. Once I get a proper working query/video example of this I will add it here.
PS – Even back in September I mentioned this in one of my tweets that Google should use AI Overviews to expand “Search in video” to beyond just keyword search in transcript of video. I guess with this new test that’s what Google is trying to do

Google News App
Google is redesigning its News App to stramline the feed
Google News app next version may have unified “Home” tab, which consolidates the functionality of the previous “For You” and “Headlines” tabs. I noticed this in a recent Android Authority blog post, right now News App looks like this and once the change is live then it will look like this.
Search Results Tools Feature
Google Chrome is now testing a drop down for Tools
I noticed that Google is testing a drop down for Tools, users can click on it and it shows Any time and All results. You can check screen recording of this here. Also recently Google is testing hiding results count which now shows up after clicking on Tools.
AI Overviews
Google showing code in AI Overviews
I’m not sure if it’s new but recently I noticed Google showing me code in the AI Overviews.
What people are saying
Noticed LinkedIn Pulse articles in “What people are saying”
In October I noticed Google testing “What people are saying” carousel in search results and now I’m noticing that Google is starting to show LinkedIn pulse articles in this carousel too.
AI Overviews
Google now testing cards UI in AI Overviews answers
Google is now testing showing cards UI in AI Overviews. Here is how this looks this was first spotted by Sachin Patel and he posted it on X.
Perspectives Search Feature
Google now testing new UI for Perspectives
Right now Perspectives carousel in Google’s Search Results have this UI and Top Stories in Mobile search results looks like this. Now Google is testing Top Stories Mobile like UI for Perspectives but in desktop search results. This is how it looks in desktop search results.
Upcoming Events carousel
Google showing “Upcoming Events” in Search Results
Though I’m not sure if its new or has been around but I’ve not noticed Google in its search results showing a “Upcoming Events” carousel which display some upcoming events like “Pink Jordan 3 release date”
Clicking any in this carousel leads to new search results, this was first posted by Sachin Patel on X. And today I too noticed in search results.

AI Overviews
AI Overviews in AI Overviews
Google is now testing allowing users to select part of text in the AI Overviews answer and get generate another AI Overview. I’m calling this “AI Overview in AI Overviews” LOL.
This AI Overviews test was first reported by Android Authority. I also posted a screen recording of AI Overviews in AI Overviews on X.
AI Overviews
Google testing showing normal anchor links in AI Overviews answers
Google right now shows link icons next to lines or paragraphs & link cards at bottom of AI Overviews answer but now it’s testing showing normal anchor links too. I prefer these links over icon ones because its just easier to click through to the web pages.
Also this was first spotted by Sachin Patel who posted this on X
AI Overviews
Scroll to AI Overviews
Google is testing showing ⬆️ Overview kind of a button with bluish background. This shows up after leaving Chrome for a minute or two – coming back in Chrome this button shows up. I noticed this on my Google Pixel 6 Pro, previously also I have noticed Google testing some new features on pixel devices before rolling them out to other devices. Probably its just a test and we’ll never see this go live for everyone. We just need to wait and see. But I found this interesting & was wondering why don’t Google do this for featured snippets too.
AI Overviews
Customise AI Overviews in Search Results
I noticed that Google is showing options to customise the AI Overviews, it shows different options allowing user to change length (shorter or longer) and tone of language too. I posted a screen recording showing this on X.
Knowledge Panels (Desktop Search Results)
Google showing videos from business in desktop knowledge panels
Google is testing showing “Videos from (brand name)” in knowledge panels in desktop search results. It shows recent videos which brand posted on their socials (I noticed Tiktok and Instagram) even previously I noticed Google showing business videos but that was in Store Ratings panel. I think that this new test and Google showing social videos in desktop knowledge panels is part of their push for more social content in search results.
Shopping Listings
Google showing AI summaries in Shopping Listings
Google is rolling AI Shopping experience in US, last month I even tried it. I think as part of this new experience Google is testing showing descriptions which are generated using AI. Earlier today I noticed this screen recording which was posted on X by Sachin Patel. This shows “Top Insights” specific sections like “Features”, “Maintenance” descriptions being generated using AI.
Google Discover
Google Discover “Related to this article” direct to product panel in Search Results
In Sep I noticed that Google is now testing sending users from Discover to Search Results and is showing “Related to this article” links below the cards. Clicking any link in that “Related to this article” was taking me to usual search results but now Google is testing sending direct to product panel.
This is quite interesting because first of all Google is pulling out product info from the article, displaying a direct link to its own search results.
Which means sites writing about a product or do a review but Google don’t want users to buy those products through their affiliate link rather sending users to its very own search results & make purchase from there.
Now in this new test Google is even cutting their search results and sending users directly to product panel and make the purchase. I’ve posted a video showing this on X.

Google Discover
Google Discover sticky bar at bottom of articles
Google Discover (Android devices) now testing showing a sticky bar at bottom of articles.
– allows to save (favourite pages)
– search (enter query to do Google search)
– share copies the link of opened article
Also later I noticed that on my Google Pixel 6 Pro its showing up for all links which I’m opening in Google App. Also I checked in with Android Authority’s Shiv and He told me that Google is testing this. I’m not sure if Google will be rolling this out to all android users, but personally I’m finding it useful because quite often I end up saving pages so as to read later on when I get some time (usually evening/night)

Google Discover
Google Discover testing showing “trending” label with topics in cards
I noticed this via SEO professional Lily Ray’s post on X She shared screenshots of Google Discover which shows a trending logo then says “Trending in Movies” and in other screenshot it’s showing trending logo then says “Trending in ML & AI”
Meta information in Google’s Search Results
Background for sitename, URL and a separated favicon on left
I noticed this via Deepak Yadav post on X in this test Google is showing background for sitename, URL and favicon which is on left and have some dark color as well. Hard to describe for me, I would suggest checking this image that Deepak shared.
