Recently I have been working on developing a simpler easier to understand timeline based page that can provide all the updates & news about AI Overviews – this can be accessed either by clicking “AI Overviews – News Tracker” link in the main menu of the website or by going to this link directly.
Right now this page have updated starting from 18 July but I do plan to add news/updates before that as well. My goal is to start from the time when SGE (now AI Overviews) was first launched by Google to some users as an experiment in Google Search Labs.

Introduction
All right, everyone so I’m Gagan Gotra. I’ve been doing SEO for the last five years and recently I’ve been trying to develop my website and trying to put out more of the content or or whatever I’m doing or whatever SEO insights I have.
AI Overviews Launch
And recently as you already might know that Google has launched AI overviews in their Google I/O event back in May, and before that it used to be called SGE search generative experience which they tested in some countries for almost well over a year.
And right now it’s being shown to some users in the United States as a test and Google plans to roll out these to more users by the end of this year.
Impact on SEO Industry
So I think that this might change the whole SEO industry given the fact that that many people are going to be using AI overviews to get their information rather than going to the websites and also by default right now there is no option to turn it off.
So some users may have to have just see it in their search results rather than having an option where they can just sort of like click and turn these AI overviews off.
Impact on CTR and Traffic
Given that this will have like a larger impact on how SEOs work and how the websites are shown in search results and this might impact the CTR click-through rates and the amount of the traffic that is going to the websites from search results.
AI Overviews News Tracker
So I’ve just built this AI overviews news tracker where I am trying to sort of have all the new recent news about the AI overviews and what are the recent updates and everything else.
Purpose and Availability
So I hope that you find this tool useful. It’s available at my website, and if you go to gagangotra.com you just look in the header you will see this AI overviews news tracker, and you can click on it.
Video Purpose and Frequency
And the purpose of this video is to sort of like do summary of what’s been happening over the last couple of days. And I do plan to do these kind of the videos frequently. I’m not sure like if I’ll be able to do it weekly given how busy I am or probably maybe every 10 to 12 days or two weeks would be fine for now, and we will see how things turn out over the time.
Timeline and Content
So right now in my tool or kind of like a page, a timeline based page. I have information starting from 18th of July.
I have also added a note that I’ll try to go back and and add some timeline-based information about the previous updates. So what my goal is, start from the day when Google announced that they will be starting to test out search generative experience in labs and start from there, build up the information until 18th July.
Value of this AI Overviews – News Tracker
So that this page can over time become like a source.
A source of information for someone who is interested in knowing about search generative experience now called AI overviews.
They can just come to this page, go to the bottom of it and start scrolling up, and they will get to know more about what happened during specific times and if they are interested in it they can click on the relevant links that I have provided some links are internal or some are external.
It might be different given what the card is – so a link might take you to another page on my website or some other website which is a good reference for you to read and know more.
