In the last meeting of 2024 with Googlers, the CEO Sundar Pichai said “Gemini is Google’s priority for 2025” to Googlers and it’s not even 2 weeks in 2025 yet AND Google announces a deal with Associated Press (AP).
The goal of deal aligns with what the CEO said back then and with this deal Google will be able to bring in more real time news information in Google’s Gemini App.
Gemini users will get better answers about recent news related queries.
This might also be seen as competition pressure from other chatbots like Elon Musk’s xAI Grok model which can provide real time information about recent news events.
But speaking of the broad picture and I’m somewhat sus too 🤨
Google did a content deal with Reddit, back in Feb 2024 and we all know what happened to their rankings in Google’s Search results – it literally went to the moon (even though over last couple of days its declining)
But Frankly – Will the same is going to happen for AP, I’m just saying.
But need to watch out, I guess 😄
