I’m writing this on 12th Jan 2025, I noticed this change on Manual Actions page while doing analysis around site reputation abuse manual action on 5th Jan for some client work (thankfully got their manual action lifted on 10th Jan). That’s when I posted about this change on X too.
Important FYI last year somewhere between 10th Oct and 27 Nov Google updated Manual Actions for News and Discovers to add some specific policy violations for Deceptive Practices. I recently noticed this change and I’m not sure exactly between 10th Oct and 27 Nov when this change was done because in the history of Manual Actions page on Wayback Machine these two specific dates versions are available only.

Here is a side by side comparison of the page, Google removed Adult-themes content (Discover) and Artificial freshenining (News and Discover) while added following policies

– Deceptive practices: Good neighbor policy (News and Discover)
– Deceptive practices: Impersonation (News and Discover)
– Deceptive practices: Misrepresentation of affiliation (News and Discover)
