Just last week I wrote this NO ONE knows what Helpful Content Update is & How to recover? and its been almost a week since August Core Update was done rolling out it completed on 3rd September 19 days after it started on 15th August.
I still think that no optimisation can help to recover a site that was hit by Helpful Content Update last year. I spent all of my weekend trying to dig into data and look for patterns just to find out things which are common amongst sites that saw some recovery due to August Core Update but no. I wasn’t able to find any common thing – its so random actually.
Some sites which I assume shouldn’t have been recover in fact recovered while for which I was expecting to recover got further hammered by Google.
Anyway I think that right thing to say for me is JUST I don’t know and I did not learned anything from August Core Update which if implemented on a HCU affected site can recover it.
After a call today with a publisher group and what I got to know.
I had to tweet rage again and here is what I posted.
All I hope is that Google change its mind (oops Algorithms) to bring HCU affected sites out of the jail and let them rank in Search. On another note recently I got to know that people charged insane amount promising recovery from HCU but nothing happened – no recovery at all.
This made me real sad given that they already lost a lot of revenue because of not getting almost no traffic for months and lost a lot again for HCU Audits.
Given its almost immpossible to recover a HCU affected site – if anyone is reaching out to me on LinkedIn for this. I’m just saying sorry guys I can’t help you recover.
