On 15 Jan, Axios and OpenAI announced a content & technology sharing deal. Its nothing new, OpenAI been striking content sharing deals with publishers for couple of years and now the deals list is really long.
And this new deal with Axois is just an addition to that same list.
Axios published this and shared that in addition of providing tech support, OpenAI will also be underwriting the expansion of Axios to the four citites in US. And OpenAI published this long blog post, but what I found interesting is specific mentions of publishers and for what they are using OpenAI tech for?
Like Associated Press (AP) (which on 15 Jan too announced a content sharing deal with Google) is using OpenAI tech for ” generates search-optimized headlines and suggests related articles to engage audiences more effectively” while The Atlantic is using it for Atlantic Companion, a chatbot which has access to the 167 years of archive of The Atlantic.
Similar to this other publishers are using it for different things.

Also I’m not a fan of these deals that OpenAI and Google are doing with publishers.
