Tech SEO Conference is going on nowadays. I’m not there, its happening in US but I’m based in Australia and don’t want to just spend insane amount on flying there for attending a conference.
But I noticed that Farbice Canel from Microsoft did a presentation about Bing.
Presentation talk is available as a YouTube video.
This one ..
Here are some of the interesting things that he said during his presentation.
- Bing’s data has shown that users are very satisfied with AI search (Copilot)
- Copilot is best for conversational, complex queries
- Copilot will be rolling out in Bing Webmaster Tools over coming weeks moreover it will use AI to summarize key trends and takeaways in the data directly in the Bing Webmaster Tools interface
- 3.5 billion URLs submitted a day. 18% of clicks to new URLs were to pages submitted by IndexNow
- Archive, Condé Nast, and GoDaddy have also adopted IndexNow
- For Bing – user satisfaction is key. Seeing if the clicks on the search results are satisfactory or not – a lot of information is at play there. But it’s a lot more than dwell time.
- Also Facan said – Google is monitoring and testing IndexNow (there is a public press release on this topic). Bing will be welcoming them and believes there will be a path to Google adopting IndexNow
- Recently Search Performance Data in Bing Webmaster Tools was extended from 6 to 16 months
- Regarding IndexNow Facan said “You need to think about a strategy, SEO strategy to know when to notify the search engine. Clearly, added URL right away, deleted URL right away. And then the tricky question is really about when do you want to notify for the updates? And so, I did a blog post to provide some view. It’s really think about that as generic, then you need to adapt that for your sites to know when to notify search engine, Bing and others. The benefit of IndexNow is that with IndexNow you will notify all search engines having adopting IndexNow. “
I gathered most of this information from following tweets, SEOs who are there at conference.
