When Google did some updates to their Site Reputation Abuse policy back in Nov 2024, many large publishers were impacted and got removed from Google’s Search Results. But some of there are starting to show in search results again.

Market Watch is coming back in search results again …

US News is also coming back ….

Some of these sites have changes to their pages too, probably that’s the reason but I’m exactly not sure what’s going on and how come this content is coming back & starting to rank again in Google’s Search results.

Also I noticed via Danny Ashton that US Today is redirecting their manual action affected sub folder to another domain now.

Here is a brief overview of what’s happening. Also to see it properly I just to click on expand icon on top right corner.

I think as per what Google saying about moving content in their FAQs about Site Reputation Abuse policy, the new subfolder should get a manual action and be removed from Google Search, instead of it ranking and getting traffic. But I don’t know if Google will issue another manual action for this.

Meanwhile I’ve posted about this on X (and on LinkedIn too) and let Google Search Liaison know about this. Let’s see if Google takes any action in coming days.

Also today on 15 Jan 2025, I noticed this post on X. Again this shows same what I have mentioned above, previously affected by Site Reputation Abuse sites are coming back in search results again.
