In July Google started to test “Latest posts from …….” carousel which was just showing up for people’s name. For example – While searching for name of Bill Gates Google was showing this carousel. Here is how it looks π
(NEW) Google is now testing showing recent social media posts as "Latest posts from ……" carousel in Search Results. pic.twitter.com/3YcTBZKjNG

“Latest posts from ….” shows content from Tiktok, Facebook, Threads, Youtube and X (Twitter) and in some cases recent articles as well.
Now Google is testing expanding this to topics as well and carousel says “Recent posts” I noticed this on Monday this week and posted about it on X.
(Update) Now Google testing "Recent posts" for topics related queries like content marketing.

And for people related queries still it's "Latest posts from ……." https://t.co/6yEIsHvWGA pic.twitter.com/ooJ4j8oFYH
I’m noticing this showing up for topic names queries like content marketing. Also I noticed it showing up for some ecommerce queries as well.
Wow "Recent posts" from different social media platforms even showing for e commerce queries.

Some Thoughts About This
I think that its the right time for brands to actually start allocating the budget and be present across platforms. Because if Google Search is choosing to show more of social content then of course you would want to be visible there.
Also recently some experts have been talking about search everywhere optimisation essentially optimising across platforms to be visible everywhere like if a user is searching on Youtube you should aim to be showing up as a top results so in the internal search results on other platforms like Tiktok, Instgram.
I would say its a good strategy to create content across platforms and optimising for internal searches, plus Google now testing pulling out relevant content posted on those platforms to surface in its search results as “Latest posts from ……….” or “Recent posts”
Let’s see how this Google Search test evolves over time, I will post on X if I notice something …..
Added on 5th Oct π
Just today I noticed Google showing “Videos from this business” in Store Ratings panel.
I posted about this on X.
This specifically shows the video that business itself has posted on their different socials. I’m noticing videos from Instagram, Tiktok and Facebook.
Also going couple of months back I noticed Google showing “Reviews of popular products” in the same store ratings panels. This one was showing the reviews of the products of the business from different third-party creators like YouTubers.
I posted about this on X back then.

Now with this test “Videos from this business” Google is presenting same thing but it’s videos from the business itself.

Also recently it was Google for India event. There was a lot that Google announced in this event but I wrote about some of the interesting points. One of the main thing was image first search results in maps.
Today I was just doing some local queries and realised that it’s actually going to be really useful for users.
I posted my thoughts about it in this X post π
